About QiGong Flow

What is it?

QiGong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises.

QiGong Flow involves simple, slow movements done repeatedly in a flow.

Who can practice?

QiGong is suitable for all body types, ages and fitness levels, and is gentle enough for those with physical limitations or health issues (be sure to still discuss starting a QiGong practice with your doctor if you have an injury or a health condition).

When practicing QiGong flow, you always go at your own pace and never push yourself to an uncomfortable or painful place with movements. How much you do is up to you and your goals.

What are some Health benefits?

The health benefits from QiGong comes about by supporting the body's natural tendency to return to balance and equilibrium and also gently creating strength, flexibility and balance in the muscles and joints through gentle flowing movements.

Lowers Stress Levels:

Studies have shown that a regular practice of QiGong can enhance nervous system activity and lower stress hormone levels.

Promotes Heart Health:

A study in the journal Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice found that QiGong helped people slow their heart rate and blood pressure.

Reduces Pain:

Women with severe fibromyalgia reported 73 percent less pain after five to seven sessions with a QiGong practitioner, according to research in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine
